Artist statement
I paint the quiet South in impressionist oils: ordinary places, remembered in light. Porches, side roads, kudzu fences, and wide fields at the hour when the light turns to honey. My work comes from a tradition of Southern gothic storytelling, but my subject is light and memory, not shadow. Painted with a loose, contemporary impressionist hand and energetic brushwork, each piece builds color from warm greys and glowing shadows to hold the warmth of a single, fleeting moment.
